Getting There
By Plane -- The nearest major airport is in Munich.
By Train -- Trains from Munich and Augsburg arrive frequently throughout the day. For information, call tel. 01805/996633. Train time from Munich is 2 1/2 hours; from Frankfurt, it's 6 to 7 hours.
By Bus -- Regional service is provided by Deutsche Touring GmbH, Frankfurt (tel. 069/7903501). This company runs at least 13 buses a day to the royal castles.
By Car -- Access by car is via the A7 Autobahn from the north and also the B17 from Augsburg.
Visitor Information
Contact the Kurverwaltung, Kaiser-Maximilian-Platz 1 (tel. 08362/93850). Hours vary but are usually Monday to Friday 8:30am to 6:30pm and Saturday 9am to 2:30pm in summer, and in winter Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to noon.
