HotelsAlthough the city is slowly becoming a tourist attraction in its own right, Genoa is still geared more to business than to tourism, and as a result decent inexpensive rooms are scarce. On the other hand, just about the only time the town is booked solid is during its annual boat show, the world's largest, in October. Except for the ones we include here, avoid hotels in the Old City, especially around the harbor -- many are very dirty and prefer to accommodate guests by the hour.
