The Greater Glasgow and Clyde Valley Tourist Board, 11 George Sq. (tel. 0141/204-4400; Underground: Buchanan St.), is possibly the country's most helpful office. In addition to piles of brochures, there is a small bookshop, bureau de change, and hotel reservation service that charges a £2 ($3.70) booking fee for local accommodation. During peak season it is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 7pm and Sunday from 10am to 6pm. Hours are more limited during winter months. Information about travel can be a bit more frustrating.
