Frommer's Review
The Waverley, considered the world's last "seagoing" paddle steamship, was built on the Clyde in 1947. During the summer and depending on weather conditions, it continues to ply the river. One-day trips, beginning at Anderston Quay in Glasgow, take passengers "doon the watter" to historic and scenic places along the Firth of Clyde, sometimes going as far as the Isle of Arran. As you sail along, you can take in what were once vast shipyards, turning out more than half the earth's tonnage of oceangoing liners.
