Near the multiplex cinema on the Clyde, Harry Ramsden's is something of a British institution. The restaurant chain began humbly in the north of England, with branches spreading in all directions today. While fish and chips in Scotland (more commonly called a "fish supper" if ordered to go and a "fish tea" when eating in) usually involves battered and deep-fried haddock, in England the common white fish used is cod. Here at Harry's you can get either -- as well as plaice and other options. All meals are huge, with french fries and peas, and the obligatory plate of white bread with butter. For the children there is a special menu and outdoors play area.
