Frommer's Review
This contemporary and reasonably new hotel close to Glasgow Royal Concert Hall calls itself an "urban oasis." Indeed the main public space is called Oshi, a Zen-influenced bar and restaurant with a 12m (40-ft.) pool of water that runs between a waterfall and cauldron of fire. Very impressive, if just a little over the top. A medley of bedrooms in various shapes, sizes, and configurations are available, and each attempts to offer a certain flair. The smallest units are the studios, but guests can opt for a duplex, theme room, or a large suite. The beautifully-kept bathrooms have power showers with body jets. And if that doesn't relax visitors, there is the option of more individual pampering at the hotel's own spa. In addition to Oshi, with its Asian fusion cuisine, Aurora offers excellent Scottish produce such as Aberdeen Angus or fresh fish in the evenings, Tuesday to Saturday. Good discounts are offered through an online reservations service.
