This amiable pub, just west of the city center on the other side of the M8 freeway, is the best in the city for hand-pulled cask-conditioned real ale. There's an array of hand-pumps -- a dozen devoted to real English and Scottish ales -- while the rest of the draft and bottled beers and stouts hail from the Czech Republic, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, and Holland. The pub is likely to satisfy your taste in malt whisky as well, and offers affordable pub food. Open Monday to Saturday noon to midnight, Sunday noon to 11pm.
