Emerging from £8 million ($15 million) renovations in 2006, this set of smaller halls, which date to the 1840s, is home to the BBC's Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Acoustically superior to some of the city's larger auditoriums, the Merchant City venue is now a key venue in the annual Celtic Connections and the international jazz festivals, as well.
