The most authentic recipes of the Styrian kitchen are served here, the cuisine often compared to "granny's home cooking." The stube is the local favorite, using local products of good quality for classic meals. Theresia Oberländer and her daughters launched this restaurant in 1995, dedicating it to the serving of traditional family-style meals in a friendly, inviting atmosphere. Their salads are the best in town, perhaps because they use a local pumpkin seed oil, which comes from a nearby mill at Leitinger where the Oberländer family was born. Their organic juices are also from a local farmer. The chef's specialty is Rinderschulterscherzl, boiled beef served with a pumpkin purée. Desserts are made fresh daily and are among the richest and best tasting in town.
