Frommer's Review
On the River Mur, this historic hotel, built in a classic Art Nouveau style, is the most desirable hotel in town. It's the choice of Arnold Schwarzenegger whenever he comes back home to visit Graz. After you register, an employee brings fruit and tea to your room. The view from the neoclassical windows encompasses many of the medieval city's baroque spires that soar toward the mountains on the opposite side of the river. The comfortable medium-size rooms come with wide, firm beds, thick carpeting, and wooden furnishings, many of which are original, dating from 1910. The Wiesler's restaurant offers good food and an attractive decor. There's an informal snack bar for sit-down food, plus the Grand Café, where you can read international newspapers while enjoying fresh pastries and rich coffee. The bar serves up piano music and special drinks.

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
