Frommer's Review
You'll have a hard time believing that La Canoa is attached to a hotel. During lunchtime, it's one of the most happening places in town. Locals come here for the inexpensive but very satisfying Ecuadorian food. Recommended dishes include seco de chivo, humitas, ceviche, grilled chicken, and delicious milkshakes. There's also a large selection of soups, salads, and sandwiches. A great place to take a break if you're seeing the sights of Guayaquil, La Canoa is close to most of the museums and only a few blocks from the Malecón 2000. Before noon, you can choose from a large selection of breakfast specialties.
