This long-standing (although itinerant) paladar serves French-inspired criolla cuisine, in a homey setting. High ceilings, antique clocks, and a huge crystal chandelier give this place plenty of charm. Start things off with some of the homemade pâté or eggplant gratin. The chicken in mushroom sauce and Dijon pork chop are both good, but if you want something special, get the duck in a red-wine-and-olive sauce. There's a small selection of fairly priced French and Spanish wines. There are only five tables here in the somewhat new digs, but when I last visited, the owner was talking about moving to an even bigger house nearby, and maybe adding lunch.
