Frommer's Review
Wishing to evoke steamy, sensual Bangkok, this new establishment takes its name from the many canals that lace Thailand's capital. Its open-fronted ground-floor bar and grill, with an open kitchen turning out delectable Thai barbecue, looks dark and slightly rough around the edges. Go upstairs, however, and it's a whole different place, very posh and upmarket, with well-dressed urbanites crowded around a huge U-shaped bar and lounging in the corner "opium den." Things do get crazy, however, especially when both professionals and amateurs are encouraged to hop on the bar and perform an exotic pole dance, which probably happens most on Wednesday nights when ladies are served free vodka. Still, it's a long cry from Bangkok's truly wild and steamy nightlife scene. A DJ hits the scene Tuesday through Sunday nights. With happy hour daily from 3 to 9pm, it's open daily from 11:30am until 3am or later.
