Planning a Trip

Getting There

From Incheon International Airport, you can take a limousine bus (from bus stop 2B or 9B) to Incheon city for W8,000, running daily from 4:21am to 9:30pm. Regular buses from the airport cost W4,100 (at bus stop 2A/B or 9A/B). From Seoul, the easiest way to get to Incheon is to take subway line 1, which intersects the Incheon city subway system at Bupyeong Station.

Getting Around

Incheon has its own subway system that connects with Seoul's system. The ride to Incheon Station from Seoul Station takes about an hour. Its website is www.irtc.co.kr.

Most ferries to the outlying islands leave from Yeonan Harbor. From here, you can take a boat to and from Baknyeongdo, Yeonpyeongdo, Deokjeokdo, Jawoldo, Ijakdo, Seungbongdo, Yeongheungdo, Muuido, and even overnight to Jeju-do. You can also take an excursion ferry that circles the area from either Yeonan Pier or Wolmido.

Visitor Information

There are tourist information centers off the subway at Incheon's City Hall, in front of Incheon and Bupyeong stations, on the promenade at Wolmido, and in Sinpo-dong. At these centers you'll find helpful English-speaking staff, brochures, and good maps. The city's site is http://english.incheon.go.kr.

The KTO (tel. 1330) offers a half-day Incheon City Tour that starts daily at 8am and ends at 2pm. Costing W50,000 per person, it includes the Yeongjong Ferry Port, Wolmido, Chinatown, and Jayu Park.
