You'll find many new dining options in the Circle Centre Mall. Chains such as Palomino Euro Bistro and the Alcatraz Brewing Co. are consistent with most of what you'll find in the downtown area. The old City Market, 222 E. Market St. (tel. 317/634-9266), has been revitalized with many new restaurants and food stands opening. It's a good place to grab breakfast or lunch if you're downtown. An outdoor farmers' market is open Wednesday from 10am to 1:30pm.
If you're heading to Broad Ripple Village for shopping or nightlife, you can't go wrong at Bazbeaux Pizza, 832 E. Westfield Blvd. (tel. 317/255-5711), and 334 Mass. Ave., downtown (tel. 317/636-7662), for gourmet pizza; Mama Carolla's, 1031 E. 54th St. (tel. 317/259-9412), for neighborhood Italian in a renovated house; or Yat's, 5363 N. College Ave. (tel. 317/253-8817), and 659 Mass. Ave., downtown (tel. 317/686-6380), for a heaping plate of cheap ($5-$6) Cajun food.
