Getting There
The nearest rail station connection is Berwick-upon-Tweed, from which you can take a bus to Kelso . For information, call tel. 8457/484-950.
From Edinburgh, board the bus to Saint Boswells, with connecting service to Kelso; the full trip lasts about 80 minutes and costs £8 ($15) one-way and £13 ($25) round-trip. Phone tel. 8705/808-080 for more information. From Berwick to Kelso, there are between six and eight buses a day, depending on the day of the week and the season. Transit costs £4 ($7.60) each way and takes an hour. Because three bus companies make the run, it's best to call the local tourist office at tel. 01573/223-464 for the schedules.
From Edinburgh, take A7 and follow the signs to Hawick; then change to A68, follow the signs to Jedburgh, and take A6089 to Kelso.
