High on Compass Hill overlooking the harbor, this atmospheric pub has picturesque whitewashed walls and a thatched roof, and if you have your pint outside while watching the sun set, somebody will probably take your picture. Inside, low ceilings create an intimate feel, and a fireplace warms the main room. Named for Don Juan de Aguila, who rallied his fleet with the Irish in an unsuccessful attempt to defeat the British, the pub has live music nightly in the summer and on weekends at other times of the year, and it tends to get very crowded. On Sunday year-round, there is a jazz-blues session at 5pm.
