This popular restaurant occupies a restored building that was a granary in the 1800s. Set beside the water in the city's revitalized canal-front district, its theatrical lighting showcases the massive beams and trusses that formed the skeleton of the building's original architecture. Menu items include a pleasing mix of comfort food and such chargrilled dishes as swordfish steak, brick-fired chump of lamb, or a whole grilled sea bream stuffed with lemon. Starters range from spicy lamb meatballs to chargrilled asparagus. The pastas and risottos are always reliable, as are the pizzas -- one made with coriander-flavored crabmeat. The restaurant caters to kids, offering special meals at £7.50 for them.
