Frommer's Review
England, more so than any other country, continues its amazing program of repurposing old, aging, and decrepit industrial and commercial sites to new uses. One stunning example is this former tram and bus garage, which today is a hotel of charm and character. The local newspaper hailed its rebirth as "sexy, cool, and slinky," and so it is -- a stylish hotel that is intimate and cool. A great range of well-styled and individually designed bedrooms awaits you, some of them in subtle taupes with contrasting deep tones, such as plum, charcoal, and ocher. You get some of the best beds in town, totally modern bathrooms with power showers, and high-end toiletries. The hotel also has a high-tech fitness suite. Downstairs is a super little bar and brasserie under a vaulted ceiling, serving tantalizing platters such as wild rabbit cassoulet with red garlic confit and white risotto with lemon thyme and prosciutto.
