Hard Rock Hotel ReviewYou gotta love rock music to stay here, because it's broadcast almost everywhere -- in the elevators, lobby, poolside, even in the casino. This is a hotel with attitude, where bellboys are likely to be decked out in mock leather jackets and Converse sneakers; a quote from the Doors, "Hello, I love you. Won't you tell me your name?" hangs above reception. Memorabilia once belonging to Michael Jackson, Elton John, and others decorates the lobby and public areas. Rooms, too, are fun and edgy, decorated with retro furnishings in bold colors and outfitted with home theater systems and complimentary music-streaming channels. Combined with the entertainment options in City of Dreams, this is a teenager's dream come true, but for my money I'd prefer a hotel with local character. | 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
