Frommer's Review
El Pescador (the Fisherman) is, as its name implies, a popular spot for seafood lovers, with over 30 kinds of fish on the menu. Many of the larger mariscos or shellfish -- variously named langostinos, cigalas, santiaguinos, and carabineros according to their size -- are on display in water tanks. The fresh Atlantic fish that feature on the menu are directly air-freighted from Galicia on Spain's northwest Atlantic coast, and many of them are sold in the neighboring Pescadería Coruñeses shop, arguably the finest fish emporium in all Madrid. Two Pescador highlights well worth trying are the lenguado evaristo, a whole sole so large it can only be ordered for two people, and the magnificent langosta a la americana con arroz (American-style lobster with rice). Warning: Many dishes are expensive and priced by weight, so check first with the waiter before you order. Sometimes a price per kilo may be listed, which can be confused for the price of the dish. White Ribeiro and Albarinho wines, again from Galicia, best accompany the fish.
