Teatriz ReviewDecorated by the famed French architect and designer Philippe Starck, this old theater is now transformed into a top-notch Italian restaurant. Theater seats have long given way to dining tables, but Starck kept many of the elements of the old thespian's locale. As you head for the restrooms, you encounter a stunning fountain of marble, silver, and gold, with everything bathed in a bluish light, giving you the impression that you're in a nightclub. The kitchen closes at midnight, but the bar remains open until 3am. The dishes are cleverly crafted. One of the best pastas is a tortellini filled with Parmesan-flavored ground meat. There are also Spanish favorites like the rib-sticking estofado de rabo de buey (bull's tail stew). Top desserts to finish off with are the fresh cheese mousse with mango ice cream and velvety smooth tiramisu. Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice. Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
