This classic tapas hangout is among the most popular in Lavapiés and, in summer, its terrace -- one of many in lively Argumosa street -- draws animated crowds of habitues and visitors. On Sundays, it's packed to the gills due to the proximity to the Rastro market. Atmosphere apart, the inventive and bargain-priced range of tidbits you get with your caña of beer or chato of wine are something else. Bacalao (salt cod), mojama (salted tuna), cecina (jerked beef), migas (fried bread crumbs), morcilla patatera (traditional blood sausage), and homemade pâtés fill out its comprehensive repertoire. On winter evenings, recorded blues and jazz classics enliven the indoor lounge/bar.
