On the fifth floor of an elevator building on a peaceful tree-lined avenue, Don Diego is in a combination residential/commercial neighborhood that's relatively convenient to many of the city monuments. The vestibule contains an elegant winding staircase with iron griffin heads supporting its balustrade. The hotel is warm and inviting, filled with leather couches and comfortably angular but attractive furniture. Rooms are a bit small but comfortable for the price. Bathrooms are cramped but adequate, with shower stalls. The English-speaking staff is both friendly and service oriented, and keeps the place humming along efficiently.
