Frommer's Review
A member of the highly contemporary Hoteles Culturales Tematicos (HCT) chain, the cool red brick Hotel El Prado (formerly the Green Hotel Prado) claims to be the first culturally themed hotel in Spain. The individual decor on each of its seven refurbished floors refers to a different wine region of Spain, from Andalusia at ground level to Madrid at the top. Rooms, named after specific wines such as Rioja, are sleekly outfitted with contemporary-looking, full-grained walls and free Wi-Fi, and each unit comes with its own small, but immaculate, tiled bathroom with shower. A full buffet breakfast, the only meal available here, is served in the smart downstairs cafe. The hotel stands in a narrow street leading up from the tranquil Plaza de las Cortes to the cafe-filled Plaza Santa Ana, and -- keeping true to its name -- is also a short walk away from Madrid's most famous museum.
Facilities:
Cafeteria; bar; room service; babysitting; laundry service; dry cleaning; meeting rooms; wine-themed library

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
