The bar's name ("the dog in the back of the car," referring to the wobble-headed toy dog you still sometimes see in car rear windows) gives you a hint of the zany retro mood. Corny kitsch decor, an eclectic mix of straight and bohemian clientele, and a background of soul, funk, and rock-'n'-roll sounds. Live acts include heavy metal groups. Open from 9pm to 3:30 am.
