Opened in 2005 and the most recent of Madrid's new crop of English-language bookshops, modern Hartley's is located in the Goya area of the Salamanca district. New books are upstairs and a quality collection of secondhand classics and others are downstairs. Talks and presentations are regularly given by locally based English-speaking writers. There's also a small selection of English-language videos.
