Drenched in sunlight, this nine-story modern hotel sits across from a private beach 3km (2 miles) west of the center of Málaga. It benefited from a radical renovation in 1996 and a takeover by the well-respected Tryp chain. Accommodations are spacious, airy, and simply furnished; each room has a private sea-view balcony. Families check in here to use the beach in front, one of the safest in the area. The staff plans activities for children from June to September, including swimming lessons. An air of anonymity prevails as the staff struggles with the comings and goings of large numbers of vacationers.
