Frommer's Review
Set immediately across the square from the railway station, this landmark hotel has figured prominently in Malmö history, as its origins date back to the 14th century. Famous guests have included actress Liv Ullmann, actor Alan Alda, and Johnny ("Tarzan") Weissmuller. We're impressed with the careful restoration of the regular bedrooms and suites; everything has been modernized with respect for the classic decor. In fact, the hotel boasts some of the most plushly decorated accommodations in Sweden. Rooms contain champagne-colored upholstery, cabriole-legged or Chippendale-style furniture, excellent beds, and all the extras of a deluxe hotel. Well-maintained bathrooms come in a wide variety of sizes, with a tub/shower. In the hotel restaurant, you can order from an international menu, perhaps stopping for a before-dinner beer in the British-style pub, The Bishop's Arms.
