Frommer's Review
This cool-looking, high-profile restaurant on a prime location on Beale Street is somewhat of an oddity. It was built and opened with great fanfare in the late 1990s by the folks who run Graceland, as sort of a swanky, Elvis-ized version of a Hard Rock Café. Lisa Marie herself visited for its paparazzi-studded launch, but with mediocre food the eatery eventually folded. Fortunately in 2007, one of Memphis's most well-respected restaurateurs, chef Jimmy Ishii (of Sekisui fame, among other favorite dining establishments citywide) jumped in to take a stab at reviving the space. The new menu is a mishmash of culinary styles they've dubbed "Memphis and Mississippi River cuisine," with offerings ranging from meatloaf and Cajun/Creole gumbo to grilled pork chops and peanut butter cheesecake. There's a full bar, frequent live music, and unusual late-night noshes, like the $11 lobster "pronto pup."
