Frommer's Review
Craving a "Big Mac of the Middle East?" You can get the so-called falafel pita sandwich at this comfortably exotic eatery in the Cooper-Young neighborhood. The chef/owner imports all of his spices and ingredients such as olive oil from his native Middle East. A hard-working, congenial host, he mingles with customers and offers helpful suggestions for appetizers such as baba ganoush, pureed lentil soup, and silky hummus served with a basket of soft, warm pita bread. You can also indulge in generously stuffed gyros or Greek salads, including tabbouleh or crisp lettuce with olives and feta cheese. Entrees included grilled rack of lamb with mango sauce, and Holy Land shish kabob. Exotic Moroccan tagine dishes -- seafood or lamb baked in clay pots -- serve two people.
