Hospitality Minnesota, 305 E. Roselawn Ave., St. Paul (tel. 651/778-2400; www.hospitalitymn.worldres.com), is a good resource to help you find your preferred lodging, whether it be a chain hotel or motel, houseboat, campground, resort, or bed-and-breakfast. With the art scene explosion in Minneapolis, expect several new swanky hotels to open within the next year or so. The most recent: An outpost of New York City's boutique Chambers Hotel, 901 Hennepin Ave. (tel. 952-844-6551; www.chambersminneapolis.com), right next door to the Art Institute International. Among other perks, it has a new Jean-Georges Vongerichten restaurant and rooftop cocktail lounge. Starwood Hotels (www.starwoodhotels.com) also has two new high-end spots: a 214-room Westin, and the Ivy Hotel + Residence, which is being built in a 1930s office building on 2nd Avenue South. Both are expected to open in 2007.
