Hotels in Minnesota

Hospitality Minnesota, 305 E. Roselawn Ave., St. Paul (tel. 651/778-2400; www.hospitalitymn.worldres.com), is a good resource to help you find your preferred lodging, whether it be a chain hotel or motel, houseboat, campground, resort, or bed-and-breakfast. With the art scene explosion in Minneapolis, several swanky hotels have opened in recent years, like the outpost of New York City's boutique Chambers Hotel, 901 Hennepin Ave. (tel. 952-844-6551; www.chambersminneapolis.com), right next door to the Art Institute International. Among other perks, it has casual-chic D'Amico restaurant and a rooftop cocktail lounge. Starwood Hotels (www.starwoodhotels.com) also has two high-end spots: a 214-room Westin, and the Ivy Hotel + Residence, which was being built in a 1930s office building on 2nd Avenue South.
