In Mission Beach -- One of Mission Beach's most popular resorts has undergone a complete makeover, including a change of name, to become the Elandra Mission Beach (tel. 1800/079 090 in Australia, or 07/4068 8154; fax 07/4068 8596; www.elandraresorts.com). While the property has been revamped, some things have stayed the same: beguiling views, a rainforest setting, spacious rooms, and a location just minutes to the beach. The 55-room resort reopened in mid-2008 but at press time new rates had not yet been set.
