Frommer's Review
Another modest property with a fine view, this all-bungalow hotel sits behind a high rock wall along the road, but its other side opens to Cook's Bay. Noted primarily for its fish burgers, the hotel's overwater Fisherman's Wharf enjoys the best view of any Moorea restaurant serving an international menu. The white-sand beach here is compact (a breakwater fronts most of the property), but the snorkeling is very good. The bungalows are made of timber with shingle roofs covering pandanus ceilings. Most have double and single platform beds and smallish, shower-only bathrooms. Two units have two double beds and much better bathrooms. All units have ceiling fans, and some (including beachfront bungalows) have air-conditioners. The least expensive lanai units also lack porches. If your bungalow doesn't have one, you can rent a TV and fridge (as well as a cellphone). The few-frills Kaveka is often the least expensive hotel offered in package trips to French Polynesia.
