On the eastern shore of Opunohu Bay, this pension has four small bungalows in its tropical gardens and a family-size unit beside the beach and lagoon. Although the buildings all have tin roofs, they are very Polynesian inside, with bamboo walls and bright tropical bedspreads. Each has a front porch. Guests in the family unit have their own kitchen, while everyone else gets a complimentary tropical breakfast and can share cooking facilities in a separate lounge building. You can explore the lagoon with kayaks and snorkeling gear, either from the beach or from a long pier that reaches deep water beyond the fringing reef. Owners Cril and Florence Morize have three youngsters of their own, and your own children should enjoy Fare Vaihere, too.
