Getting There -- From Portland, Mount Hood is reached by taking I-84 east to exit 16 (Wood Village) and then following U.S. 26 east. From Hood River, take Ore. 35 south. These two highways meet just east of the town of Government Camp, which is the main tourist town on the mountain. The Lolo Pass Road is a gravel road that skirts the north and west sides of the mountain connecting these two highways.
