En Route to the Mountain

If you like sweet wines, watch for the Wasson Brothers wine tasting room, 17020 Ruben Lane at U.S. 26 (tel. 503/668-3124; www.wassonbrotherswinery.com), as you drive through Sandy. This winery produces a wide range of fruit wines, and also does quite a few dry varietals. The tasting room is open daily from 9am to 5pm. Also, if you or anyone in your car has a sweet tooth, keep an eye out for the Oregon Candy Farm, 48620 SE U.S. 26, Sandy (tel. 503/668-5066), which is 5 1/2 miles east of Sandy and has huge assortment of homemade candies. The Candy Farm is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5pm.
