It may seem a bit casual from the lobby and there are no stunning views of Mount Hood even though it's right outside the window, but the Cascade Dining Room is by far the best restaurant on Mount Hood. The menu changes regularly, but might include pinot noir-glazed chicken, apple-cider-braised pork loin, or beef tenderloin with wild mushrooms. There are also always several interesting vegetarian offerings. There's a good wine selection, and desserts showcase a variety of local seasonal ingredients such as raspberries, pears, and apples. Although the food here is good and the wine list is superb, the service rarely rises to the occasion.
