Frommer's Review
This is the hippest gay restaurant in Munich. As estimated by the staff, it has a 70% gay male clientele; lesbian women and gay-friendly straights make up the rest of the clientele. Part of the space is devoted to a sprawling, attractive bar with a private clublike atmosphere where red leather chairs, mirrors, and an impeccably trained staff emulate a Paris hotel bar of the 1920s. You can enjoy at least 40 single-malt whiskies, a dozen single-barrel bourbons, and a wide array of unusual wines. No one will mind if you decide to eat at the bar, or never move from its premises, but the adjacent dining room offers an appealing combination of international and Continental food, prepared by a central-European staff whose interpretation of Thai cuisine is especially enjoyable. Examples include a Vorspeisen-teller (a plate of appetizers, similar to the Italian antipasti) of mixed Thai specialties, and some fans find the lemongrass soup almost addictive. Continental cuisine includes veal preparations, fresh fish, pastas, and salads (a platter-size version is garnished with strips of confit of duckling).
