Frommer's Review
Right in the center of Munich, no place gets more traditional than this long-favored Bavarian tavern, beloved by the locals. If you like lots of people, plenty of ever-flowing suds, a raucous atmosphere, and hearty fare, this is for you. The kitchen tries valiantly, but you should consider this mainly as a place to eat, drink, and be merry, not dine in grand style. Nonetheless, the dishes are quite tasty, especially the freshly roasted pork served with potato dumplings and a cabbage salad. We're also fond of the savory kettle of veal goulash served with potatoes and a green salad. Sliced turkey breast appears in a creamed mushroom sauce. Tables are shared good-naturedly, the largest -- almost 7m (23 ft.) long -- placed in the center. Students are fond of this place, and it also attracts a lot of merchants in the area.
