RestaurantsNantucket is filled with outrageously priced restaurants, in which star chefs create dazzling meals served in high style. Obviously, you don't need this kind of treatment every night, but you'll probably want to try at least one deluxe place. Many of the best restaurants serve terrific lunches at half the price of their dinners. Thankfully, there are also a number of cafes scattered around town that serve reasonably priced lunches and dinners. Nantucket also has an old-fashioned drugstore soda fountain, Island Pharmacy, serving breakfast and lunch on upper Main Street, as well as the best smoothie on the island. It's really the best deli in town. If you dine in town, you may enjoy an evening stroll afterward, since many stores stay open late. Broad Street, located just steps from Steamboat Wharf, is the place to go for cheap take-out eats any time. Good choices are Walters Deli (10 Broad St., tel. 508/228-0010) for sandwiches and Stubby's (8 Broad St., tel. 508/228-0028) for burgers.
