Frommer's Review
Several nights a week in season, a classical harpist plays in one of the island's most intimate restaurants. Chef/owner Al Kovalencik offers a distinctive three- to four-course fixed-price meal each night, so check the menu out front or by telephone and make a reservation for the evening whose menu is most appealing. In the candlelit dining room, classic American and Continental influences predominate; don't miss the soft-shell crab appetizer when it's offered. The main course could be a special swordfish preparation, rack of lamb, or beef Wellington, among other possibilities. For dessert, there's always something exceptional, like a chocolate soufflé cake. Dietary preferences, like vegetarianism, can be accommodated if you call ahead. Because the fixed price includes three courses -- an appetizer, main course, and dessert -- and large portions, this restaurant is actually a fine-dining bargain on Nantucket. Mondays feature a four-course lobster dinner with all the trimmings for $70.
