Frommer's Review
Although it competes with a cookie-cutter chain hotel in town, the Novotel, and a motel on the outskirts, the Languedoc remains the traditional favorite because of its old-fashioned ambience and nostalgic feel. It bravely keeps up with the times, however, and has a welcoming atmosphere thanks to a very helpful staff. It offers well-equipped rooms with acceptably comfortable mattresses. As is typical of an old hotel of this era, rooms come in various shapes and sizes.
Even if you're not a hotel guest, consider a visit to its well-respected restaurant, which features an array of regionally inspired dishes. Try such specialties as grilled salmon served with anchovy butter or tender lamb with broad beans. Fresh oysters are often on the menu. Also on-site is the town's best wine bar, Le Bacchus, offering selections by the glass and specializing in the many esoteric vintages grown nearby.
