Canoeing

New Hampshire has a profusion of river and lakes suitable for paddling, and canoe rentals are widely available. Good flatwater paddling may be found along the Merrimack and Connecticut rivers in the southern parts of the state. Virtually any lake is good for dabbling about with canoe and paddle, though beware of stiff northerly winds when crossing large lakes such as Winnipesaukee.
