Frommer's Review
One of the most arts-conscious hotels in Provence is in a maison bourgeoise built by disciples of Gustav Eiffel in 1895. It's near the Negresco and the promenade des Anglais. Each unit is a unique decorative statement by a different artist. The heir and scion of the longtime owners, the Redolfi family, commissioned manifestations of his mystical and mythical visions after years of traveling through Asia, Africa, and South America. In the "Ben" room, for example, a Provençal artist of the same name painted verses of his own poetry, in tones of blue, orange, yellow, and green, on a white background. You can take your chances or select a room based on the photos on the hotel website. Most units have a combination tub/shower. The fifth-floor superstructure holds the health club, steam room, and sauna. The garden contains scores of tropical and exotic plants, and the recorded sounds of birds singing in the jungles of the Amazon.
