Frommer's Review
This is one of Nice's best modern hotels, on the corner of a wide boulevard lined with shade trees, 4 blocks from its private beach. Built on the site of the original Hôtel Splendid (ca. 1881), it was heralded as a new era in French hotels. Frequent renovations have kept the place fresh. The rooms usually have terraces or balconies, and several floors are reserved for nonsmokers. Accommodations come in various shapes and sizes, but all have private safes, electronic locks, and soundproofing. Beds are a bit narrow, but the mattresses are first-class. Bathrooms are tiled and well equipped.
