Originally built during the grand days of Niçoise tourism, this hotel dates from around 1900 and still retains a few of its original architectural grace notes. A verdant patio and garden are set with clusters of iron chairs and tables, a perfect setting for enjoying breakfast or an afternoon read. Inside the motif is less nostalgic: It's angular and contemporary, and has mirrored, sometimes stark walls and efficient modern furnishings. Most bedrooms have high ceilings and casement doors that open onto tiny porches hemmed in with wrought-iron railings. The rooms are fairly small, but each comes with a firm mattress and compact tiled bathrooms.
