This is one of the most impressive Victorian buildings in Oban. The Columba was built in 1870 by the same McCaig who constructed the hilltop extravaganza known as McCaig's Tower. The location is among the best in town, and the modernized big-windowed dining room offers views of the port. The small guest rooms are unremarkable but well maintained, each with a tiny bathroom with a tub/shower combination, or just a shower. The restaurant offers a mix of seafood and local produce. Live folk music is sometimes performed in the informal Harbour Inn Bar.
