On the south side of the Ogden River, the Prairie Schooner is so named because every dining table is modeled after a prairie schooner -- a covered wagon for you Eastern folk. The Western theme doesn't end there; the dining room features life-size campfire dioramas, a stuffed wolf, and a facade modeled after Old West storefronts. But what's kept the place in business for 30 years are the steaks, including a monster 32-ounce porterhouse and a 22-ounce T-bone, as well as those of the chicken-fried, ground, and shish-kabob varieties. There is also a full selection of seafood and surf-and-turf combos, and a smattering of chicken. Lunch is sandwiches and a few items from the grill. Full liquor service is available.
